The IVA2000-COBOL tool accelerates the process of creating COBOL source code, allowing the standardization of the program structure according to the standards adopted by each client, the use of error-handling routines, and facilitates the referencing of corporate structures such as DCLGen/DB2, copy books, reusable subroutines, DB2 query generation, and automatic generation of null attribute handling, as well as the generation of definitions in non-technical language that facilitates the understanding of the COBOL code. The IVA2000 database contains all information related to the object to be converted, which is included during the generation process. This information (code and internal tool data) facilitates queries and impact analyses, as well as the reuse of existing code in the generation of new sources.
IVA2000-CICS: Generation of COBOL Online Programs
The IVA2000-CICS tool enables the generation of COBOL ONLINE programs that run in the CICS environment, facilitating the generation of BMS screens used as the user interface, copy book generation, VSAM/CICS file maintenance, and easy DB2 query generation.
IVA2000-BATCH: Generation of COBOL Batch Programs
The IVA2000-BATCH tool enables the generation of COBOL batch programs that run in JCL routines, facilitating the creation and handling of Sequential and VSAM file structures, automatically generating code that standardizes the validation tests for the return codes of the processes of opening, reading, writing, rewriting, and deleting the files used.
IVA2000-IDMS: Loading and Conversion of IDMS Objects
The IVA2000-IDMS tool enables the selective loading of systemic objects registered in IDD/IDMS (RECORD, PROCESS, PROGRAM, MAP, TABLE PROCEDURE, and SCHEMA data, as well as BATCH IDMS programs), through the loaded data, lists of systemic objects by object type are generated. From these lists, cross-references are created between systemic IDMS objects and the naming reference of source and target objects. After this process, new batch and online programs, screens, DB2 table creation scripts and their DCLGENs, working and file copy books, LOAD scripts, IDMS programs for data extraction from IDMS databases and their execution JCLs, and generation of Stored Procedures that will replace the Table Procedures can be automatically generated; always maintaining the same functionalities of the original programs in the newly generated programs.
Conversion of Languages and Products: APS, PLI, EASYTRIEVE, and COOLGEN
The IVA2000 tools that handle the conversion of APS, PLI, EASYTRIEVE, and COOLGEN allow loading the original source codes of each language (PLI, EASYTRIEVE) or product (APS, COOLGEN) into their databases. From these source codes loaded into IVA2000, new COBOL/CICS/BATCH/DB2 sources are generated, following the same processes and standards used in the IVA2000-COBOL tool; always maintaining the functionalities of the original programs in the newly generated programs.
